Robert Taylor Salisbury

Robert Taylor Salisbury, 75, passed away on Thursday, July 29, 1999 in St. George, Utah after a long illness.
He was born in Salt Lake City, UT on May 7, 1924 to Jesse M. and Louisa Ethel Taylor Salisbury. He married Alice Larue Gustavson on January 29, 1947. Robert (Bob) served his country during World War II, from August 1942 through August 1945. He was stationed in England, attached to the 95th Bomb Group, and completed 52 missions as a gunner, over enemy territory in the European Theatre, with the U.S. Army Air Force.
He spent most of his working life as a Sales Representative for various farm and industrial companies, traveling the western states while residing in Salt Lake City. Upon retirement, he and his wife Alice moved to St. George. Bob enjoyed shing and golng with his many friends and family. He was a member of the Elks Cottonwood Lodge #2344, serving as president of the Trustees. During 1988-89 he received the Exalted Rulers Outstanding Contribution Award. Upon moving to St. George he transferred his membership to the St. George Elks Lodge. Bob was also a member of the American Legion Post 71 for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Alice; a sister, Louise East of Bountiful, UT; as well as several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; numerous nephews and nieces; and many dear and close friends. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Jesse H., William T., George T. And Frank T.; and one sister, Gertrude Schrader.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, August 3, 1999, 11 a.m., Larkin Sunset Gardens, 10600 S. 1700 East. Friends may call at the mortuary Monday evening 6-8 p.m. and again on Tuesday, one hour prior to the service. Interment: Larkin Sunset Gardens.
