Frederick Rodgers, 79, of Rives Junction died Friday, Sept. 28, at home under the care of his family and Great Lakes Hospice. He served in the Army Air Force during World War II as a mechanic, top turret and waist gunner with the 95th Bombardment Group at Horham Air Force Base in Horham, England. He also served in the Marine Corps and Reserves and was a member of the VFW in Mason and the American Legion in Leslie.
He enjoyed snowmobiling, camping and hunting at his son's ranch in Colorado. He retired from Ross Tank Co. in Munith and spent many hours restoring his 1969 Road Runner and attending car shows.
Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Wanda; two sons, Bill and Jerry; three daughters, Bonnie Haldernan, Becky Olcott and Deena Bowers; two sisters, Evelyn Daily and Mae Myers; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Cremation has taken place with arrangements by Robertson Funeral Homes, Leslie Chapel, 109 Church St., Leslie.
