Robert William Korber, younger son of Albert P. Korber and member of the third generation of the prominent Albuquerque family, died May 7 in the North Sea region off England, his parents were informed Wednesday. The date was one day before V-E Day.

The message from the War Department gave no further information.

Young Korber, a technical sergeant, was in the photographic division of the Army Intelligence Service and had been overseas more than a year. He was 23 years old.

Sgt. Korber was born in Albuquerque and was the grandson of the late Jacob Korber who founded the Korber business enterprises. His only brother, Jack, is associated with his father in those companies. 

He was a University of New Mexico pre-law student one year before graduation when he enlisted. He attended Page Military Academy in Los Angeles for eight years and later the Claremont, school for boys at Claremont, Cal.

His parents reside at 307 South Arno.
