Morris J. Shaver
January 11, 1913 – June 7, 1998
Morris J. Shaver, 85, Allen Road, died Sunday at Genesis HealthCare, Watertown.
Born Jan. 11, 1913, in Watertown, son of Jay and Annie Cuthbert Shaver, he graduated from Dexter High School and Dexter Training School. He attended New York University for two years.
Mr. Shaver served in the Air Force during World War II and was an aerial gunner aboard Army bombers.
He lived in New York and Long Island working as an aircraft mechanic before moving to the north country in 1953 to work at Camp Drum (now Fort Drum) as a property disposal officer, retiring in 1972.
He was a member of the Perch River Grange and the Disabled American Veterans. Mr. Shaver is survived by several cousins.
There will be no funeral or calling hours. The body will be cremated. Arrangements are with Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter.
