Carlyle "Carl" Schaad

Carlyle "Carl" Schaad, 83, of Sparks, Nev., formerly of Chandlerville, died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2006, at Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno, Nev.
He was born Oct. 10, 1923, in Iowa, the son of Carl and Marguerite Schnell Schaad. He married Nora Webb in 1943.
Mr. Schaad attended Monmouth College, the University of Nevada at Reno and the University of New Mexico School of Law. He was a U.S. Army Air Forces veteran of World War II, serving in Europe. He was a prisoner of war. He served in the Air Force Reserves during the Korean War until 1958. He was a contract negotiator in air and space industries with North American Aviation, Jet Propulsion Laboratory and Xerox Corp. subsidiary Electro Optical Systems. He worked in contracts at the University of Nevada at Reno. He was a member of Air Force Association, 95th Bomb Group (H) Association and Reno's Old Men Eating Out Group.
Survivors: wife, Nora; brother, Howard Andrew (wife, Rachel) Schaad of Orland Park; 16 nieces and nephews; many great-nieces and great-nephews; and several great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
Graveside services: 1 p.m. Wednesday, Chandlerville Cemetery. Lintner-Hurley Funeral Home in Chandlerville is in charge of arrangements.
