Stephen J. Godal, 80, of Folcroft, a pipe fitter for ARCO Refinery and a World War II veteran, died May 13 at Taylor Hospice.

Born in Philadelphia, Mr. Godal worked at ARCO for 42 years until his retirement. He was a 1939 graduate of Southern Hill High School in Philadelphia.

Mr. Godal was a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was stationed in England and served with the 95th Bombardment Group. He was a member of VFW Post 7213 in Norwood and St. Joseph's Senior Citizens in Collingdale.

Mr. Godal was the son of the late Joseph and Theresa Servocky Godal.

Survivors: Wife, Margaret H. McDade Godal sons, Joseph S. Godal of Reading, Stephen J. Godal of Huntington Beach, Calif., Robert D. Godal of Gainesville, Va. daughters, Margaret S. Franke of Springeld, Linda Hughes of West Chester brother, Francis Godal of Marlton, N.J. sisters, Anna Hickman and Theresa Benedict, both of Philadelphia 15 grandchildren 13 great-grandchildren.

Mass: 11 a.m. Monday, St. Gabriel Church, Mohawk Ave., Norwood.

Visitation: After 8:30 a.m. Monday, Cavanagh Family Funeral Home, 301 Chester Pike, Norwood.

Burial: Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon.
