Alphus S. Klinger I, 69, of Millersburg RD2, died Friday during a heart operation in Harrisburg Hospital.

A retired employee of the New Cumberland Army Depot, he was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and a former member of the Church Council.

The World War II Air Force veteran was a member of the Susquehanna Lutheran Village Volunteers Association, the Evelyn G. Frederick Health Center, the 95th Bomb Group Association, the Steever R. Bay Post 326 American Legion, the Blaine G. Walter Jr. Post 5507 VFW, the Susquehanna Lodge 369 FAM, the Tall Cedars of Lebanon Millersburg Forest 125, the Ancient Accepted Scottish Right Valley of Harrisburg Consistency, the Pleasant Hill Grange in Killinger and the Historical Society of Millersburg and Upper Paxton Twp.

Survivors include his wife, Helen W. Klinger; two daughters, Dr. Linda M. Isaacson-Wells of New Haven, Conn. and Chrisann K. Fulkroad of Millersburg; ve sons, Alphus S. II, Gary E. and Matthew E. of Millersburg; Broderick A. of Arlington and Carlton A. of Landisville; his mother, Mary Klinger of Camp Hill; two sisters, Carolyn Lenhart and Betty Jane Epenshade of Harrisburg; two brothers, Mark of Harrisburg and Donald of Florida; and 11 grandchildren.

Services will be held Tuesday at the Hoover Funeral Homes of Millersburg with burial following at Oak Hill Cemetery in Millersburg. Viewing will be from 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow with Masonic services at 8 p.m.
