William Mark "Bill" Carnahan

William Mark "Bill" Carnahan, 89, Sand Springs, passed from this life Saturday, March 28, 2015.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Mobley-Dodson Funeral Service of Sand Springs. Funeral services for Bill were Thursday, April 2, 2015, 10 a.m., in the Mobley-Dodson Funeral Service Chapel. Interment followed in the Woodland Memorial Park, Sand Springs.
Bill was born in Alton, Ill., March 29, 1925, to Hugh William Carnahan and Anna Lyle (Gillis) Carnahan. He grew up in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. Following graduation from high school, Bill enlisted in the military in July 1943 and served in the United States Army, 8th Air Force, 95th Bomb Group. He flew 32 missions in the European Theater during World War II, serving as a Waist Gunner on a B-17 Flying Fortress.
Receiving many awards and medals for his dedicated service, Bill was humbled and honored to serve his country.
Following his military service, Bill attended Iowa Wesleyan College in Mt. Pleasant, earning a Bachelors Degree in 1949. While attending Iowa Wesleyan he met Willy Panzeco. After a long courtship, they married on September 15, 1952, in Pratt, Kansas. They enjoyed more than 62 years of marriage together. The couple adopted two daughters. Career opportunities led Bill to the oil and gas industry, and to Oklahoma. He worked in various capacities in the industry for 40 years, much of that time travelling throughout the United States and Canada, as well as to Mexico and South America with his work.
For several years before retirement Bill was co-owner of Integrator Service, Inc. In addition to his career in the oil and gas industry, Bill served as a volunteer reghter in Sand Springs for 25 years. He enjoyed creating, whether inventing something new or nding an adaptation to make something work better to crafting beautiful keepsakes from wood, stained glass, and fused glass. He also enjoyed shing and especially loved spending time with his family and close friends. He will be greatly missed by both family and friends.
Preceding Bill in death were his parents Hugh and Anna Carnahan, brothers Earl and Hugh (Bud), and sisters Marjorie and Marian.
Bill is survived by his wife Willy of the home, daughters Cristi Carnahan and Cathy Carnahan, grandchildren Chance Snodgrass and Avery Carnahan, nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
