George T . Sulick, Sr., age 89, of East Haven and formerly of Fairfield, the beloved husband of Emma (Franchi) Sulick, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, March 2, 2012. Born in Bridgeport to the late Stephen and Caroline Sulick, he was a lifelong area resident.

George was a WWII U.S. Army Air Corp veteran of the 95th Bomb Group and was a POW. George was a Sales Service Manager with General Electric and retired after forty-two years of loyal employment.

In addition to his wife, George is survived by his loving children: George T . Sulick, Jr. of East Haven, Patricia Mazella and her husband, Robert of Brooklyn, Michael Sulick, Sr. and his wife, Rhonda of Bowdoin, ME and Mary Sullivan and her husband, Robert of North Branford. He will also be missed by his cherished grandchildren, Sarah Sulick and her husband, Stanley Myint of London, England, Gillian Janus and her husband, Dan of Cambridge, MA, Margaret, Connor and Kevin Sullivan of North Branford and Michael, Marshall and Lindsey Sulick of Bowdoin, ME; and great-grandchildren, Marko and Nora Myint.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four siblings, Stephen Sulick, Pauline Ellison, Helen Cassidy and Josephine Erhardt.

Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at 10 a.m. directly at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Fairfield for a Mass of Christian Burial. Inurnment with Military Honors will be held on Tuesday, at 4:30 p.m. at Oak Lawn Cemetery Mausoleum in Fairfield. Friends may greet the family on Monday, March 5, 2012 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Rd. in Fairfield Center.
