EAST GREENBUSH - Rivet, Henry G., Col. USAF Ret., 101, of East Greenbush, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2025, at Van Rensselaer Nursing Home.

“Son of Joseph A. and Yvonne D. (Mailloux) Rivet.

“Col. Rivet was past commander of the Capital District Retired Officers Assembly, past president of the East Greenbush Rotary, Charter member of Rensselaer Elks Lodge #2703, and past vice president of the East Greenbush JCs.

“He served in Europe during WWII as a heavy bomber pilot with 30 missions over Germany, served as a refueling tanker pilot during the Cold War, and six years of Reserve R + D scientist at Rome Air Development Center.

“He was a Research Scientist for Henry Rivet, Inc. for years.

“He is survived by a brother, Roger J. Rivet; and eight wonderful nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; his wife of 69 years, Elizabeth J. Teator; and his brother, Raymond L. Rivet.

“A Mass will be held in Henry's memory on Monday, March 10, at 8:30 a.m., in the Church of St. Mary’s, at Clinton Heights, 163 Columbia Tpk., Rensselaer. Friends and family are invited to call the night prior, Sunday, March 9, from 4-6 p.m., in the Wm. J. Rockefeller Funeral Home Inc., Rensselaer. Interment will be in Memory's Garden Cemetery, Colonie.”
