Paul Joseph Masiello passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 11, 2012, of congestive heart failure at age 91.

Born December 20, 1920 in New York City. He married Catherine (Kay) Smernoff in July 1945, a union that lasted 60 years until Kay passed away in 2005. He served in USAAF in England during WWII.

He was later a successful card shop owner until 1974, when Paul and Kay moved to Del Mar to retire near their son, a scientist who settled in San Diego. While retired, Paul enjoyed working on a number of home improvements, including an elaborate playhouse in his backyard for his grandchildren.
