William "Dub" Vandegriff, Jr.

William "Dub" Matley Vandegriff Jr., 92, of Catharpin, VA, died Sunday, June 25, 2017. He was the son of the late William and Hazel Johnson Vandegriff.

Dub was past-president of the 95th Veterans Association, and a long-time supporter of the 95th BG Memorials Foundation. He led the successful effort to publish Contrails II.

He enjoyed golfing and loved to mow. He was a veteran of the US Army Air Corp and a member of the B17 Air Group during WWII. 

He is survived by his wife, Mary Frances Sanders Vandegriff; and two sons, all of Catharpin, VA.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, June 29, 2017 in McKinney Cemetery. Christian-Sells Funeral Home of Rogersville is serving the family. Online condolences may be made at www.christiansells.com.
