William Kenneth Green of Slate Hill, died on Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at Valley View Center For Nursing Care and Rehab in Goshen. He was 91.

The son of William Tooker and Nellie Larkin Green, he was born on August 2, 1915 in Middletown.

"Ken" married Thelma Goodwin on July 10, 1941.

Ken was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, The Knights of Columbus, and a charter member of V.F.W. Greenville Post. He was a 60 year and founding member of Wawayanda Volunteer Fire Dept. Ken was the second of four generations to serve in this fire department.

A Family Statement reads: "A loving husband of 65 years, he was a compassionate and wise father, grandfather and great-grandfather devoted to God and country".

Ken is survived by his loving wife, Thelma at home; four sons: Michael Kenneth, Sr. and his wife, Lori, William Joseph and his wife, Patricia, all of Slate Hill, James Arthur and his wife, Karen of Westtown, and John Robert and his wife, Marilyn of Glen Rock, N.J.; two daughters, Barbara Elizabeth Munson of Amelia Island, Fla., and Mary Kathryn Bartle and her husband, Guy of Hawaii; six grandchildren: Elizabeth, Glenn, Emily, Amy, Tom, and Michael, Jr; and great-grandchildren: Sean Michael, Brandon and Rhyan.

Friends are invited to call on Friday, March 16, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Ave., Middletown.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, March 17 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady Of Mount Carmel Church, 90 Euclid Avenue, Middletown. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Middletown.
