JACKSONVILLE - Robert L. "Bob" Yopp Jr., 91, died Jan. 1, 2013, at East Carolina Heart Institute surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4 at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville Chapel. Burial will follow at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery. Bob was a WWII veteran serving in the Army Air Corp, and will be buried with military honors. He was the founder of Yopp's Gulf Service in 1954, and later founded Bob's Auto Salvage in 1960.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert L. Yopp Sr. and Lena Yopp; brother, Earl J. Yopp; and son-in-law, Horace Sikes. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Edna Yopp; his three children, Mary Richards (Frank), Bobbi Sikes, and Robert L. Yopp, III (Ida); as well as grandchildren, Christopher Sikes (Christy), Taylor Sikes, and Alyson Richards Smith (Curtis); and one great- grandchild, Addison Sikes.
