Lorenzo Pline, 36, of Westphalia, was drowned Sunday August 18, when he attempted to recover his boat that had capsized as he was trying out a new motor. His boat overturned in the rough waters of the Grand River in Portland Michigan. . A companion, Francis Fink, said they were clinging to an inner tube, but Pline swam after his boat and went under. His body was recovered the following day.
