Gene Grime

With heavy hearts, the Memorials Foundation and the Heritage Association report that Gene Grime of Napa, CA, left formation on 13 April 2021 at age 98. Gene was a 336th radio operator. Folded wings.

He was a native of Missouri where he was born on 15 August 1922. As Gene’s obituary reads, “He enlisted in the Army Air Corps and flew 25 missions on B17s out of England.

“In 1950, he married Nona Robertson. They leased a 60-room hotel in Eugene Oregon and ran it for several years.

“Gene loved fishing and hunting. He worked at the Mare Island ship Yard Shop 17 and retired in 1980.

“He is survived by his wife of 71 years; his two sons, Gary & Carrie, Alan & Darcy; grandchildren Nicholas, Riley, Allyson, Natalie, and Gene.

“He will be buried at the Veterans Memorial Park in Dixon.
