Alva C. Powell,. 23, veteran, 2nd Lt. U..S. Army Air Force World War II. Killed in Action. Alva C. Powell was born Wednesday, February 2, 1921. He was the son of Emulous Bascomb Powell and Alma Eloise Powell.

Alva C. Powell was killed in action Tuesday, April 11, 1944. Enemy fire destroyed the motors of his plane, which subsequently fell into the North Sea, killing all ten crew members. Only one body was found, a young man from Michigan.

Alva was survived by his parents, Bascomb and Alma Powell; three brothers, Clark Powell, Bill Powell, and Roy Powell; And one sister, Barbara Powell.
