Ray V. Revels, 75 of Walnut St. died June 1, 1999, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center.

Funeral is 11 a.m. Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Sam Warner offciating. Interment will be in Meadowbrook Cemetery. Services are being directed by Floyd Mortuary and Crematory Inc. of Lumberton, NC.

Mr. Revels was born in Kershaw, SC, the son of the late V.R. and Sue W. Revels. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and participated in the Lacy McKenzie Bible Class. He was an Eagle Scout and Scout Leader. He proudly served in the 95th Bomb Group during World War II and he was a Prisoner of War and was presented with a Purple Heart, The Bronze Star and other commendations.

Mr. Revels was the past leader of the local DAV and VFW. He also served on the Robeson County Board of Elections. The Governor of North Carolina presented him with the Order of the Long Leaf Pine Award for community service. Other afliations include the Masons, Shriners, and the Foundation Board of the Robeson Community College.

He is survived by his wife, Anne McRackan Revels; son, Ray V. Revels Jr. of Rock Hill, SC; daughters, Suzanne Revels Daniels of Lumberton and Lucia Revels Lindsey of Greenville, SC; a sister, Kathryn Culp of Rock Hill, SC; and ve grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, 1006 N. Elm St., Lumberton, NC 28358; or Robeson Community College/Foundation, PO Box 1420, Lumberton, NC 28359.
