Zach T. Stanborough, Lt/Col U.S.A.F. (Retired). at River Region Hospice on Thursday, May 18, 2006. Age 90 years. Beloved husband of the late Juanita Harrison Stanborough. Brother of Thelma Stanborough Blalock of Baton Rouge, LA and the late Thomas W. Stanborough, BMIC, U.S. Navy, lost in Solomon Sea May 30, 1943. Son of the late Thomas Stanborough and Catherine Johnson Stanborough. Survived by nieces and nephews in Baton Rouge, LA and Plano, TX; also friends and relatives in Australia.

A native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Metairie since July 31, 1924. A Lead Pilot, B-17s in the 95th Bomb Group, USAF Horham England, survivor of 26 missions over Nazi occupied France, Norway, Belgium, Denmark, Poland, Czechoslovakia and Germany. Awards & decorations include The Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters, Distinguished Unit Citation with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters, American Defense, European Theatre of Operations Medal with 7 Battle Stars and Victory Medal.

Past Master of Ideal Lodge #367 F&AM (1959) and Dual Member of Metairie Lodge #444 F&AM. Past Patron of Rob Morris Chapter No. 1, O.E.S. and Germania Chapter 190, O.E.S., Degree Master and N.O. Scottish Rite Bodies 32nd Degree, Royal Order of Scotland, National Sojourners, Air Force Assn, Retired Ofcers Assn., Disabled American Veterans #33 of Metairie, Past President of Metairie High School Alumni Assn. All these organizations are invited to attend the funeral services.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the religious services at THARP-SONTHEIMER-THARP, 1600 N. Causeway Blvd., Metairie, LA on Monday, May 22, 2006 at 12:00 Noon. Friends may visit at 11:00 A.M. Monday. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, City Park Ave., New Orleans, LA.
