Guillermo A. Vasquez of Chula Vista passed away on April 5th at the age of 81, after a courageous struggle with cancer. Born in Tucson, AZ, Guillermo was the 4th of six children. He served in the Army Air Corps in England as a waist gunner and his bomb group were among the first B-17's over Berlin.

For many years Guillermo was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Italian Catholic Federation of St. Rose of Lima Church in Chula Vista and the 95th Bomb Group Association. Guillermo was an avid traveler, gardener and volunteer. His love of always helping everyone in need will never be forgotten. He was a loving husband to his first wife Rosa L. Vasquez and his second wife Theresa Assunto-Vasquez. He will be remembered for his loving dedication to his two late wives and his entire family.

He is survived by a daughter Rosa-Maria Livesay (David) of San Jose, a son Guillermo Jr. of Chula Vista; a brother Carlos Vasquez and sisters Maria Helena Sanchez and Elisa Reyes of Tucson, AZ; and two grandsons Justin and Joshua Jackson.
