Leonard Clay "Mac" McReynolds

September 1, 1918 – June 27, 2012

"Mac" was born in Seminole, Texas on Sept. 1, 1918 and passed away at home in Chehalis, Wash., on June 27, 2012.

After spending his early years in West Texas, he enlisted in the Army and served our country as a B-17 pilot during WWII. He flew 35 missions over mainland Europe out of England, during 1944. He then made his home in Olympia and raised his family in the South Bay area. He retired after a career with the State of Washington. He retired as a Lt. Colonel in the USAF reserves. After retirement, he traveled extensively and he became active with the 95th Bomb Group Association.

His last years were spent gardening, fishing and spending time with family in Thurston, Pacific, and Lewis counties.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Helen. He is survived by his wife, of 18 years, Edith, his children, Sandra Scott, Ellen Hill (Charles), Jack (Kim), Darlene McReynolds-Webster (William), James (Lori), William (Diana) and Kim (Cindy), also step-children, Doris Sinek (Mike), Melvin Koch, Carlton Koch (Cher), Herbert Koch, and Rickie Koch, several grandchildren, great- grandchildren, great-great- grandchildren and numerous extended family and friends.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 7, 2012 at the United Methodist Church, 16 South Market St, Chehalis, Wash. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the United Methodist Church of Chehalis or the Veterans Memorial Museum of Lewis County.
