Loren K. Fetter
April 29, 1924 – January 12, 2008
Loren K. Fetter passed away January 12, 2008 in Phoenix, AZ. He was 83 years old. Memorial Mass will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 5045 East Thomas Rd., Phoenix.
Loren Fetter was born April 29, 1924 at Tracy, MN to James and Margaret (Williams) Fetter. He attended country school and graduated from Tracy High School in 1941. He enlisted in the Army Air Force in 1942 and had an honorable discharge in 1945.
On April 29, 1944, Loren married Virginia LeClaire at the IHM parsonage in Currie, MN. They lived on a farm south of Tracy for the next seventeen years. Because of health problems, Loren and family moved to Phoenix in the summer of 1963. He earned a business degree from Arizona State University in 1967 and worked for the state of Arizona for the next fifteen years.
While in Tracy, Loren was active in community affairs. He served on the elevator board and served as president. He received the Farmer of Year award from the Tracy Chamber of Commerce. His joys were his family and trips to Minnesota to see "what was new".
Loren is survived by his wife of 63 years, Virginia; children: Jackie (Gary) Ruppert of Currie, Minnesota, Joey (William) Ridenour of Paradise Valley, AZ and Steven (Sheree) Fetter of Gilbert, AZ.
He is survived by twelve grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren, a host of friends and family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Veteran's Nursing Home Care Unit Recreation Fund, 650 E. Indian School Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85012.
