Elmer C. Orndorff, born Sept. 11, 1916 in Marshall, IL, passed away April 10, 2013. Elmer, known as Ace, was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Joan. He grew up in Findlay, OH and attended Ohio State Univ. and Findlay College before joining Braniff Airlines in 1938. He worked in ground operations in Dallas, Chicago and Corpus Christi and started flying following service in WW II as a B-17 pilot.

He was an avid golfer playing more than 75 years with a single digit handicap for many of those years. He was a charter member of Brookhaven CC. For the last 11 years he lived at Signature Pointe in Dallas, served on the Resident Board and was the weekly bingo caller. Thank you to the staff for making those years enjoyable. He was an active member of Lovers Lane UMC.

Survived by his sister Mary Louise Lewis of Gahanna, OH, daughter Nancy Phillips and husband Larry of Fort Worth, son Tom of Arlington, four grandchildren, & six great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sat., April 13 at 1:30 at Lovers Lane Methodist Church in Dallas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch PO Box 1890, Amarillo, Tx., Alzheimer's Association, or charity of your choice specified in memory of Elmer Orndorff.
