James Minaghan

March 15, 1923 – October 17, 1996

James "Ned" Minaghan, 73, a World War II veteran and mechanical engineer, died Thursday in Oak Park Hospital. Born in Chicago, Mr. Minaghan was a staff sergeant in the Air Force's 334th Bombardment Squadron of the 95th Bombardment Group. He was decorated with a distinguished flying cross, several oak leaf clusters and an air medal.

After graduating from Northwestern University, Mr. Minaghan went to work as a mechanical engineer with USG Corp. in Chicago. He retired in 1986. He was active withand
