Lester Walter Morris, 86, of Wichita Falls, died Sunday, December 28, 2003 in Wichita Falls. Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 PM Tuesday, December 30, 2003 in the chapel of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls, Pastor George B. Davis, New Harvest Church, ofciating. Interment will follow in Burburnett Cemetery under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home. A son of the late Robert Walter and Delia Moore Morris, Lester was born October 10, 1917 in Durant, Oklahoma. He was a pilot in the Army Air Corp and the Air Force. He graduated in 1944, was a command pilot, and ew B17s. Lester served in World War II, the Korean War, and performed logistics in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the 95th Bomb Group. Lester retired as a Colonel in the United States Air Force. His rst wife, Irene Morris, also preceded him in death in 1990. He is survived by his wife, Pearl Morris of Wichita Falls; two daughters, Tina Whittle and husband Lt. Colonel Richard Whittle of Ft. Meade, Maryland and Peggy Morris of Guthrie, Oklahoma; one stepdaughter, Karen Burdette and husband R.D. Burdette of Burkburnett; one stepson, Gary Stone of Dallas; six grandchildren, Tara Whittle, Walter Eakins, Chris, Kim, Jennifer and Ryan Burdette; one great grandson, Mekhi; and several nephews and cousins. Visitation will begin at 7:00 PM Monday, December 29, 2003 at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
