James V. "Jim" McCluskey
September 22, 1925 – November 8, 2008
James V. "Jim" McCluskey, 83, of East Brady, died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008, in Clarview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Sligo. He was born Sept. 22, 1925, in Perry Township, Armstrong County, a son of the late Robert E. McCluskey and Julia A. Pisarchick.
He served in the 334th Bomb Squadron, 95th Bomb Group in the Army during World War II and campaigned in Normandy, the Rhineland, Northern France and Ardennes. He was a recipient of a EAME Theater Service Medal with four Bronze Stars, a Good Conduct Medal and a World War II Victory Medal. He was honorably discharged with the rank of corporal.
Jim worked as a mechanic for Union Carbide, Kittanning, for 35 years. He was a member St. Eusebius Roman Catholic Church, East Brady. He was also a member of American Legion Post 488 in Bradys Bend, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7132 in Rimersburg. He is survived by his wife, Teresa M. "Terri" (McLaughlin) McCluskey, of East Brady, whom he married Feb. 2,1952; two sons, James P. McCluskey and his wife, Joy, of East Brady, and Perry M. McCluskey, of East Brady; a sister, Rozella A. Groves, of Butler; two grandsons, Lucas J. McCluskey and Corey M. McCluskey, both of East Brady; also survived by special nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers.
Visitation will be private for the family. Committal service and military honors will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Eusebius Cemetery, Brady Township, Clarion County. The public is invited to attend.
