FRANCIS E. MASON, JR., born July 23, 1920 in Worcester, MA to Francis and Mabel Mason, Sr., passed away peacefully at his home in Kingwood, TX on February 21, 2005 at the age of 84. Mr. Mason, a former resident of New Faireld, CT, retired from the Federal Bureau of Prisons and has lived in Kingwood for the past twelve years. He was a member of St. Martha's Men's Club, the Knights of Columbus and a past president of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.

Fran served his country in the 8th Air Force, 95th Bomb Group during World War II. He participated in six air campaigns and was presented the Distinguished Unit Badge with two clusters and the European African Middle Eastern Theatre Camp ribbon with six battle stars.

This devoted father and grandfather had the heart of a champion and enjoyed playing Santa Claus for many years at local schools. Mr. Mason is survived by his bride of 62 years, Barbara Mason of Kingwood, TX; daughters, Kathleen Fitzgerald and her husband, Brian of Kingwood, TX, Maureen Bullard and her husband, Robert of Williamsville, NY; sister, Gloria Lee of Worcester, MA; grandchildren Meghan Fitzgerald and her ancé, Stephen Nimmo, Daniel Fitzgerald, Jessica Bullard and Bradley Bullard. Visitation is_5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 23, 2005. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 A.M. Thursday, February 24, 2005 at St. Martha Catholic Church, 2302 Oak Shores, Kingwood, TX with Monsignor Chester Borski with interment following at Houston National Cemetery.
