George Ivalis, 79, of 51 Webster St., Hudson, died Tuesday, July 13, 1999, at Southern N.H. Medical Center in Nashua.

Mr. Ivalis was born on Feb. 12, 1920, the son of the late Vasilias and Helene (Adamaku) Ivalis. He had lived in Hudson since 1970.

He was the husband of Shirley (Dumas) Ivalis, with whom he would have celebrated their 29th wedding anniversary Dec. 20.

Mr. Ivalis worked at Nashua Corp. for more than 36 years.

He was formerly a member of the Whip-Poor-Will Golf Club in Hudson and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.

During World War II, Mr. Ivalis served in the Army and the Army Air Corps. He served in the Eighth Air Force 95th Bomb Group and the 412th Bomb Squadron as a gunner and bombardier.

He also fought in the Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland and Central Europe theatres of operations and attained the rank of technical sargeant. He flew 25 missions over Germany.

Mr. Ivalis was educated in Nashua schools and graduated from Nashua High School in 1938.

Besides his wife, survivors include a stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Donna and Douglas Baker of Portland, Maine a stepgrandson, Jesse Baker of Portland a sister, Katherine Pappalardo of Salem two sisters-in-law and a brother-in- law, Mrs. Thomas Ivalis of Las Vegas, and Barbara and Conrad Rioux of Nashua and several nieces and nephews.

The Zis-Sweeney Funeral Home in Nashua is in charge of arrangements.
