Constantine George "Co" Maniatty, 92, died Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011, at Avery Heights Nursing Home in Hartford, Conn.

He was born March 11, 1919, in Barre, VT, the son of George and Christina Maniatty.

He graduated from Spaulding High School in 1938.

He was a member of the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, from 1940 to 1945, and served in the European theater as an airplane maintenance technician, being discharged as a master sergeant.

For more than 40 years, he was employed by the Colt Manufacturing Co. in Hartford, Conn., as a tool and gauge inspector.

His memberships included the Church of the Good Shepherd (Episcopal) and American Legion Post 10, both in Barre, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Hartford, Conn.

He was an avid golfer.

Survivors include many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by six brothers, Speros, Steve, Philip, Jim, John and Soto Maniatty, and two sisters, Kathryn Decker and Mary Maniatty.

A graveside memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family in Hope Cemetery in Barre.
