Darwin W. Detlefs

December 24, 1923 – April 23, 2009

Darwin W. Detlefs, born December 24, 1923 in Stickney, SD; died April 23, 2009 in Monroe, WA.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ann; daughters, Melinda Tsuchiya (Sakaru) and Molly Pagel (Paul); and ve grandchildren.

Darwin was preceded in death by son, Darwin W. Detlefs, Jr.

Darwin was a B-17 pilot in WWII. After graduating from Iowa State University he taught junior high school for two years before 37 year career with IBM. He loved his farm outside Stanwood, WA, woodworking, and baseball.

Celebration of his life to be held Sunday, August 9, 2009.
