Clarence Deger, 82, of Palm Beach Gardens, passed away on October 20, 2004, at JFK Medical Center in Atlantis.

Mr. Deger was born and raised in Middletown, OH. During WWII, he entered the Army Air Corps. He served as an ofcer with the 95th Bomb Group (H) assigned to Horham, England. As a B-17 navigator, he ew 35 combat missions over Germany and the occupied territories including some of the rst daylight raids over Berlin. Among Mr. Deger's service awards were the Distinguished Flying Cross and four Air Medals.

On St. Valentine's Day 1946, in the middle of a Chicago blizzard, he married Laura Hime of West Palm Beach. For the last eighteen months, he greatly missed his bride of 57 years, who predeceased him. Mr. Deger has been a resident of the Palm Beaches for the past 57 years. For many years, he owned the Hime Electric Company of West Palm Beach. A voracious reader, he also enjoyed cooking, golf and football.

Mr. Deger was the son of the late Clarence and Rosa Deger of Middletown, OH. He is survived by his ve children, David, Anna, John, Jean and Jane, eight grandchildren, two brothers, James and Paul Deger, three sisters, May Sauers, Christina Christian and Rita Hill, and 18 nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be private. In lieu of owers, contributions may be made in his memory to Hospice of Palm Beach County, 5300 East Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL, 33407.
