Edward Alfred Johnson, 89, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, September 29, 2012.

He was born on February 25, 1923 in Barberton to the late Frank C. and Edith K. Johnson. Edward was a graduate of Barberton High School, Class of 1940, he was also a graduate of Miami University (Oxford, Ohio), where he was a member of Beta T heta Pi Fraternity and the University of Cincinnati Law School - Juris Doctorate.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II, serving in the 8th. Air Force as a B-17 Bomber Pilot – 95th. Bomb Group, where he received an Air Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters.

He was President Emeritus of Johnson Parrish Title Agency, Inc. Edward was a 60-year plus member of the Akron Bar Association, a long-time member of Barberton First Presbyterian Church, member of National Lodge 568 FAM, 32 Degree Scottish Rite Valley of Akron, Tadmor Temple, past president of the Barberton Shrine Club, also member of the Barberton Rotary Club, Barberton Elks Club, Garfield Post 0566 of the American Legion, Summit County, Ohio and American Land Title Association; Boy Scout Troop 101, where he received his Eagle Scout Award and later served as Scout Master.

Preceded in death by his brothers, Thomas H. Johnson and Richard K. Johnson; Edward is survived by his wife of 66 years, Carroll Mae Johnson (nee Dreese); children, Susan C. (T om) Parrish, Thomas E. (Jane) Johnson and Ann L. Brand; grandchildren, Edmund J. (April) Parrish, Michael T . (Marie) Johnson, Lieut. USN David W. Johnson, Amy L. Brand and Kristen A. Brand; great- grandchildren, Lance, Luke and Logan Parrish, Madeline and Catherine Johnson and nephew, Barry R. Johnson.

Per his wishes, cremation has taken place. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Inurnment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, Florida 32256 or the Boy Scout T roop 101, c/o 565 Lockwood Road, Barberton, Ohio 44203.
