IRVING ROTHMAN, World War II Veteran and former Prisoner of War, died Dec. 9, 2015. He was 92 years old. Adored husband of Nina Rothman of Lyndhurst; loving father of Gary (Peggy) Rothman of Jacksonville, Fla. and Eric (Laurie) Rothman of Tucson, Ariz.; second father to Steve (Amy) Liston of Phoenix, the late Gary (Susi of Aurora) Liston and Sara Schrode of Aurora. Loving "Bapa" of Jason, Jackie and Todd Rothman, Jamie (Brian) Johnson, Heather Rothman, Jacob (Amber) Rothman, Abby (Daryl) Royer, Betsi (Brian) Knis, Sam Liston and Dylan, Evan and Jason Schrode. Great-grandfather of Andrew, Ryan, Lillian, Ellie, Isaac, Maggie and Howie. Twin brother of Esther Becker of Hollywood, Fla. Beloved uncle.

Irving was born on March 29, 1923 in Cleveland and graduated from John Adams High School. He flew B-17 bombers with the 95th Bombardment Group and was shot down over Germany on his eighth mission in Jan. 1944. He remained a prisoner of war and was on the forced Black March. He was liberated on April 16, 1945.

Irving was self-employed in the electric supply field and later as a contract furniture salesman. He was a life member of B'nai Brith and a congregant of Temple Beth-El in Las Cruces, New Mexico.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on December 11, 2015 at BERKOWITZ-KUMIN-BOOKATZ MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 1985 S. TAYLOR ROAD, CLEVELAND HTS. Interment will be at Mount Olive Cemetery, Jewish War Veterans section. FAMILY WILL RECEIVE AT THE RESIDENCE 2112 ACACIA PARK DRIVE, LYNDHURST, FRIDAY FOLLOWING SERVICES UNTIL 4PM AND SUNDAY NOON TO 7PM.
